This coloring book is based on a corpus of basket designs, which were created by Damian Jim in the 1990s and early 2000s using Adobe Illustrator and McDraw Pro. Some of the designs presented in this book have been woven into baskets, while others have never been shown to a broader audience. The abstract and geometric designs, mostly non figurative, showcase a variety of shapes that can be used within a confined circular space using block patterns. Ancient cultures were among the inspirations for some of the designs, while other patterns were sketched, designed via a computer, and finally translated into bits of data to be printed back to paper.
